List of the most frequently asked questions regarding SimpleLocalize. Below the FAQ part, you will also find a list of constrains.

How to change project ownership?

To transfer a project from one user to another, need to go to 'People' tab of your project and click on the 'Project Owner' button.

Auto-translation resulted with mixed results

Please compare your results with a web version of translation provider (DeepL translator / Google Translate). In some very rare cases, a translation provider might add unwanted text or translate text incorrectly, in such case there is nothing what we can do with it.

How to rollback/revert changes made in the translation editor?

Go to the 'Settings' -> 'Backups' and click on the backup you want to restore. From there, you can restore the backup to the current project or create a new project with the backup. If you used at least once used the Translation Hosting publication option, you can download the latest version of translations locally and upload them using import tool in 'Data' tab.

Constrains and default behaviour

Presented values below are not always a strong requirement in the service and can be changed in the future.

Translation Keys

  • no duplicates allowed (project),
  • case-insensitive,
  • max 500 characters,

Language Keys

  • no duplicates allowed (project),
  • case-insensitive,
  • max 20 characters,
  • trailing and leading spaces are removed by default,
  • allowed characters: numbers, Latin characters, underscores (_), dashes (-)

Customer Ids

  • no duplicates allowed (project),
  • case-insensitive,
  • max 40 characters,
  • trailing and leading spaces are removed by default,
  • allowed characters: numbers, Latin characters, underscores (_), dashes (-)

Translations

  • max 65 535 characters

Descriptions

  • max 500 characters

Code Descriptions

  • max 500 characters

General

  • max 10 concurrent jobs per project,
  • max API rate limit 5 req/second per IP, some endpoints might different limits due to security reasons.
  • CDN access is unlimited
